A Historic Legacy Reimagined

The Story of The Milestone a Historic Harrisburg, Pennsylvania Riverfront Estate

Welcome to the Milestone, a historic mansion nestled along Harrisburg’s scenic Susquehanna River. Originally built in 1925 by renowned Philadelphia architect Ralph Baker, the property blends Medieval English and French Eclectic design elements. For nearly a century, this iconic residence has been a symbol of elegance and grandeur in the heart of Pennsylvania.

Over the years, the mansion has served many purposes, from a private home for prominent figures to a bed-and-breakfast in the early 2000s. Now reimagined as Milestone on the River, the mansion serves as an exclusive venue for weddings and special events. With its rich history, beautifully restored interiors, and breathtaking riverside views, the Milestone Inn offers the perfect setting for unforgettable celebrations.

Step inside and experience the charm of the 1920s, from the wood-paneled drawing rooms to the spacious courtyards and fireplaces that make this venue truly unique. We invite you to make this magnificent estate your own for the day, creating timeless memories with family and friends.

Honoring the Legacy

Suites Inspired by the Architects and Vision of Baker Mansion

At the Milestone, each of our elegantly designed suites—the Mellor Suite, Meigs Suite, Howe Suite, and Baker Suite—pays tribute to the legacy of those who shaped the original Baker Mansion. Named after the principal architects behind the mansion’s creation, these suites honor the renowned Philadelphia architecture firm of Mellor, Meigs, and Howe, as well as Ralph Baker, the original owner who commissioned the home in 1925.
